VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE NAVIGATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
OUR MISSION:
The Wausau Free Clinic (WFC), sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church, is committed to offering no-charge, quality primary care services to low income, uninsured individuals of Central Wisconsin, utilizing highly qualified volunteers.
POSITION TITLE:
Community Service Navigator
REPORTS TO:
Clinic Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Service Navigator assists patients in completing and obtaining financial information and/or accessing community services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting patients in completing financial forms in person or over the phone.
- Providing information on community resources to patients based on patients’ assessed needs.
- Communicating effectively with clinic team and patients, utilizing in-person or telephone interpreter services as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School degree or equivalent education.
- Experience in assisting individuals in completing forms that include financial information and/or navigating and accessing community services.
- Desired but not required: an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking welcomed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to comply with current public health standards and internal policies/procedures.
- Attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.
