Spanish Interpreter – Contractual Paid And Volunteer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Wausau Free Clinic Interpreter provides Spanish interpreting and translation services to patients and their families as they navigate their health care visit.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Provide Spanish interpreting and limited translation services on a fee-for-service basis.
• Provide on-site services at the Wausau Free Clinic that may include:
  • Interpretation telephone calls with patients to remind them of appointments, answer patient questions, and/or provide care instructions with no additions or omissions.
  • Interpretation as patients navigate clinic health services that include registration, health history, medical procedures, education, medication regime, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
• Provide urgent, non-planned interpretation service based on one’s availability.
• Provide on rare occasions interpretation services for community/outreach events the Wausau Free Clinic may participate in or host.
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards for interpreting and translation.
