Wausau Free Clinic Awarded The Silver Seal of Excellence

Seal awarded for promoting best practice & maximizing access to quality health care

Wausau, WI, August 28th 2024– The Wausau Free Clinic Sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Wausau was awarded the Silver Seal of Excellence from the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) recently.

The Standards of Excellence were created to promote best policies, practices, and procedures for the Free and Charitable Clinics (FCCs). These Standards ensure that the clinic and its patients are getting the highest level of care.

"The Wausau Free Clinic is a wonderful clinic that provides free health services to low-income and uninsured communities throughout Marathon County, building a healthier future for those in need. It has been a pleasure working with the Wausau Free Clinic staff. The opportunities and healthcare resources this clinic provides Wausau communities are incredible." Courtney Roofe, WAFCC Program Manager, shared of the clinic's successes.

Dennis Skrajewski, Executive Director of WAFCC, explains, “We want to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and commitment the Wausau Free Clinic has made to promote best-practices and maximize access to quality healthcare for the most vulnerable in their community.”

Being able to demonstrate a high level of quality care is so important to our patients and other stakeholders. We could not have done it without WAFCC” says Clinic Manger, Jeffrey Todd.

Upon receiving this Seal of Excellence, the Wausau Free Clinic remains one of four Free Clinics with this distinction across the state.
